Get to know the Pine tree by using the many gifts that come from their bark, wood, roots, pitch and needles. Over the day we will learn to make folded bark baskets, food, clothespins, pitch epoxy, medicine and more. Walk away with a deeper connection to this generous tree.

Learn about oak trees role in their ecosystems along with the history of acorns as a staple food. We will go through the various harvesting and processing methods to turn tannic acorns into edible flour; finishing the morning together by making acorn pancakes so delicious you’ll have to battle the squirrels for them.

In this workshop we will learn about the history of various rawhide traditions, the benefits and uses of rawhide, and walk through a demo of how to make it at home. We will then cut and sew rawhide into pouches with rawhide thread, along with a little antler button or bone toggle for latching.
